14 yachts in build for delivery in 2018/19

Heysea Yachts, one of mainland China’s biggest luxury yacht builders, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. The celebrations were held at a private company event and included a mix of speeches from senior executives, as well as dancers and a banquet.

Heysea president Allen Leng gave a speech highlighting the past 10 years and setting the goal to become a Top 10 global yacht-builder over the next decade for craft over 24m (79ft). Ms Fang, Heysea CEO and co-founder, also gave a presentation to the management and workforce.

Currently Heysea has 14 yachts in build ranging from 14.6m-43.1m (48ft-142ft) in size, including the Vista 43 Catamaran. Of the 14 builds, nine are due to be completed in 2018 and five in 2019.

With the exception of the Vista 43, which is being built in steel for a Chinese client, all other monohull yachts are being constructed in FRP. Of the 14, 11 are building for Chinese owners, two for Australian clients and one for America.

When Heysea was founded in 2007, it was mainly involved with the design, production and sale of houseboats in Hong Kong. This changed the following year to a focus on mid-to-large yachts with the Heysea 60 and 78. Over the following years sales expanded and in 2011 work started on the Asteria 108 model. In the same year work also started on the Vista 43 catamaran.

The range of models continued to be expanded but significantly in 2016 Heysea started its international expansion strategy, participating in the Dubai and Singapore shows plus Sydney this year. The company also opened a Fort Lauderdale office in 2016 in association with YPI. Since then, Heysea has appointed dealers in Australia, Malta and South East Asia.
